I heard once that an artist's production is always an expression of self-portraiture. I don't know if it is true, but in my case, I believe it is. I really think that one's art must be true to one's personality; only in this way will then be satisfaction in the process of making art. As an artist the main thing is to put together the concepts that motivate you to create art. Thus, the artist must understand his or her own psyche. After doing some introspective analysis, I discovered the ideals that dominate my art and define what is necessary for me to express in my chosen medium of painting. I came to the conclusion that I am interested daily in portraying the places I've visited in an abstracted manner for the purpose of experimenting with forms, shapes, textures and colors so that the cityscape is revealed in a new way, in abstracted, joyful compositions and in vibrant colors. My focus, then, is primarily formal. In my work, nature and architecture are used as a subject, and the idea of harmony is the major concept found in all my work. My depictions of nature, architecture and spatial situations are almost always compositions of abstracted forms and a playful perspective. I manipulate perspective to create shallow spaces and broken forms in order to achieve interesting compositions.

Since my work is primarily a formal exercise, it does not focus on social and economic problems. I have always rejoiced in landscape and architecture of all types, therefore, what I want is to express my love of these architectural and natural forms. My body of work is characterized by the combination of brilliant colors, textures and construction materials. My paintings vary in size and most of them are in a size range from 3 to 6 feet.

My art is a reflection of my personal philosophy, educational background and personality. My goal is to achieve expression, harmony, peace and rhythm through the use of dynamic compositions, colors, textures and different techniques to interact and communicate with the viewer. My intention is to evoke energy and to communicate the joy of art through the interaction of the formal elements. My idea is to express my passion for color and the challenge of a complex composition.

"What I dream of art is an art of balance, of purity and serenity, devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter, an art which could be for every mental worker, for the businessman…. something like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue."          Henri Matisse.
